How come when my units are walking/running and I press "S" it doesnt stop them? Or when I would like to make a formation by pressing "D" it doesnt do anything. What am I missing? Thanks!
Answer(by t31os): Yes there is a stop command, it's just no longer the "S" key, it's now
"backspace" and no there's no option to change it as far as i'm aware.
Other Tips:
NEVER send your troops ANYWHERE with simple "move" (right-click). ALWAYS send them with attack-move.
"What happens to the units who are slightly out of range? they will still stand ground or move towards attacking?"
Units
that dont get agroed by hostile forces move to the spot where you
clicked with attack-move command. So if you want to engage hostile
troops simply send your forces with attack-move towards the enemy.
Edit:
"A" only attacks the unit I point to"
It is a simple atack. But if you click on the earth, not o the unit, its gonna be attack-move. |||"What am I missing?"
It's not SC2, thats what you're missing :D
Well I thought it is one of the features....so you are saying it doesnt' work?
I am actually a DOTA player :D
|||So there is nothing that will just STOP my units in place so they can instantly attack whats is in range? holding position is kind of useless imo...
|||D doesn't make a formation it just means "stand ground" which means don't be on aggressive.

Pretty much, if you stand ground they won't attack anything unless it comes right next to them, if you have it on aggressive they run around everywhere randomly attacking a farm 5 miles away.
Nothing in between.

There is actually attack-move... Its when you press A then left-click anywhere and your dudes gonna move there attacking all hostile stuff on their way.
|||That's not the problem. The problem is you can't have static archers, in a formation that attack things that come in to their range.

"A" only attacks the unit I point to, I dont want to do that because many units are out of range for that unit while they are in range of attacking other units...wasting valuable time on unneeded movements.
Like I initially asked, is there a feature where units just STOP and do whatever they can in the area where they were stopped at any given time?

Thank you for answering my question, that's all I wanted to know LOL
