Egypt vs Greek

as for me, ive only played Greek, and i really like them. egyptians are very strong, but similar to the Britians/French in AoE3; you gotta hit them early and not give them a chance to rebuild.

They are overpowerd. Egyptions!

Eelephants=op! can smash anything or any fleet in seconds.

im new to aoeo and i chose greeks. im lvl 16 and loose to every egyption in pvp. no matter what lvl, just need a gang of ele and they cant loose. gg, faceroll civ

|||yea i would agree that ele are kinda op but it kinda feels like egy is kinda weak overall till age 3 when u get elephants and CA. axe men are ok they just cant hold up against Greek solders...so if u get rushed as egy b4 age 3 its normal game over

Pedromos do pretty well vs my elephants, i don't know about you guys. Unless they have you majorly outupgraded or out geared, elephants should not beating pedromos, hoplites, or phalanx. Spearmen actually do pretty well too if you aren't age 3 yet.

Greeks get much stronger foot based troops. Everything out of Egypt is mediocre at best that isn't riding (or being pulled by) a camel or elephant. Moral of the story is, don't sit back and let egypt tech straight to tier 3 where they are strong. Attack early and force them to fight with their lackluster infantry.

I find a good spearmen and Toxote push slows me down a LOT. Spearmen are even optional if you have kept up on scouting and know I don't have camel riders. In that case, just go hypaspist/toxote and make me pull villagers/lose stuff.

Did you guys know greece builds villagers a good bit faster than egypt, even if they empower their town center? This is usually offset by the fact that greece has to stop building villagers while you age up. However, this means it is in your advantage to force a bronze age fight and try to drag the bronze age out much longer. The longer you can keep us both from teching up, the more villagers ahead of your opponent you get.

Also, greece techs faster. MUCH faster. If you get the 40% research time upgrade from the academy they tech up insanely faster. This means if Egypt starts building their temple of Set at the same time you begin your upgrade, you'll beat him to it by quite a lot. If egypt builds with tons of villagers he might be able to keep close to your tech time, but he'll lose tons of resources from not mining. So once again, drag the bronze age out by applying pressure and forcing him to make units or lose his econ.

yea i agree with that if egypt is hit fast in hard mostly by archers cause slingers are to weak to do *** and axemen get ate by them. and if u do 1v1 most of the fighting i done 2nd age were Greek relay have the edge idk tho i only have played 2 matches Greek vs Egypt me being Egypt in against a prem Greek i couldn't stand a chance in age 2
