Good counter for Ballista playing as Egyptian?

So I was playing the quest "Why Does It Have To Be Bandits" and up until this point in the game massing lots of War Elephants and Elephant Archers has been working nicely in Age IV. But suddenly on this quest the enemy is now spamming tons of Ballistas and wreaking havoc on my base and Elephant army. While I did manage to win after about an hour and a half of playing it was by far the toughest mission yet for me because it's a big map and the enemy just kept pumping out army after army of Ballistas/Infantry and pwning me with them. I was wondering if anyone knows a good strategy for this quest or just knows of a good counter for the Ballista playing as Egyptian.

|||Use war elephants- they are good againstsiege. Make sure you target the balistas first, then move on to other units.
